Training of DRR committees and Hazards, Capacity, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment in 60 targeted Communities of Taluka Umerkot and District Umerkot,Sindh

Qualifications and Experience
· University level degree preferably Masters in Master’s degree in Social Sciences/development studies or in a relevant discipline
· A minimum of 10 years’ work experience in development sector, at least half of which should have been related to Assessment, evaluations and Research work in the field of Livelihood, Disasters & DRR.
Technical Competencies
· Strong Experience in related work
· Ability to travel on short-notice.
· Strong Communication skills
· Computer Skills (use of Microsoft Office specifically Excel for budgeting/planning & PowerPoint for presentations).
· Excellent Writing skills (English, Sindhi, Dhatki), pro-active in communication & information sharing.
Responsibilities of Consultant
· Complete the assigned tasks/ activities as per agreed timelines
· Be in close coordination with organizations contact person to finalize the risk assessment.
· Refrain from using any picture/audio/video recordings for personal use, posting on social media or any other online media without prior consultation with the organization.
· The consultant understand the mission. Vision of the organization, the project goals and objectives
· Demonstrates understanding, and incorporates into practice, the various code of conduct, values, ethics and standard practices.
· Has demonstrated knowledge on culture context
· Has good command over local languages
· Maintains a professional conduct, including maintaining professional attire, is punctual and follows the set time
· Understand and deals well with participants from different cultural backgrounds
· Is able to tackle cross cultural differences with mutual respect and can create an environment that encourages constructive dialogue.
· Risk Assessment of 60 targeted villages
· Compile and submit detailed Risk assessment report of activities performed.
· Any other job or related task assigned by the line manager of PMS
Payment terms and conditions
· Consultant shall be paid lump sum (including designing of training, delivery, report writing) as per PMs financial policy.
Deliverables
· The consultant will train DRR committee members; 3 members each from 60 VDCs in a manageable cluster.
· The consultant will share consolidated training report, handouts, list of participants, pictures.
· High Definition Pictures of all activities with pictures of charts.
· Final Report (soft and hard copy) with detail of process, identified hazards, vulnerabilities, capacities and community action planning.
Methodology
· PMS will identify the DRM committees (3 committee members form each village and will be collected at central place for group of 20-22 members in a cluster of 6 to 8 VDCs.
· PMS will arrange stationary, panaflex, transportation and refreshments.
Others
PMS team will ensure all the arrangements and intimate the participants prior for Risk Assessment in targeted villages of Taluka Kunri District Umerkot, Sindh.
