IRC has been working in Pakistan for over 30 years, and manages & delivers large, complex programs to meet needs in health, education, protection, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor & conflict-affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.

Job Overview/Summary:

 

To assist manager in ensuring proper maintenance of networks, computers  and other peripheral IT devices and to pay monitoring field visits and troubleshooting in field offices

 

Major Responsibilities:

·       Ensure smooth LAN administration while maintaining standards of HQ.

·       Management and implementation of Networks.

·       Ensure safe and secure emailing system.

·       Ensure safe and secure working of office networks and adopt necessary measures to keep the networks/workstations free from viruses.

·       Responsible for hardware and software trouble shooting

·       Manages systems, networks & facilitate users as par policy.

·       Responsible for the security of network system.

·       Administration of IRC Databases.

·       To make sure that all hardware and software license agreements are fulfilled for all systems, networks. Must take reasonable precautions to guard against corruption of data or software or damage to hardware.

·       Ensure Data backup along with this take care of data confidentiality of all users in Sindh offices  are taken on basis weekly/monthly basis and user accountability requirements (including other field staff), e.g., user identification and authentication, account administration, and password integrity and security of the data. 

·       Monthly database backups (Prolog) burned on DVD’s and should be send to Country office through courier with email confirmation and CC to their supervisor. 

·       Responsible for periodical updates for windows and network security updates, Antivirus updates etc.

·       Identify need of improvement in hardware / software.

·       Liaison with ISPs for internet connectivity.

·       Responsible for timely hardware servicing and as and when required

·       Maintain and record all purchased computers and accessories

·       Conduct field offices frequent visit for trouble shooting.

·       Other responsibilities as and when assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Education:

·       University Degree in IT, Computer Science or Computer Engineering

 

Work Experience:

·       Experience of handling computer networks

·       Experience in data management and report writing

·       MCSE , CCNA will be a plus

 

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

·       Hand on command on MS Office Excel etc.

Language Skills: 

·       English/Urdu

Desired;

·       Willingness to work long hours and flexible schedules as required
